March 4th Planting Day with Master Gardners, Kathy and Ellen "The Tomato Queen"

March 5th Hood Magazine photo shoot for cover story.

March 7th Watermelon Magic Film showing at the Washington Pavilion.

March 22nd Kids Grow Green Booth at Ag Day at the Washington Pavilion, kids will demonstrate how to fold newspaper seed starters. Event runs from 10:00am to 2:00pm. We can have 3 kids working at a time so it is not too crowded. The event is free, and involves a free lunch to those who attend, check the link for event details. Sign up email coming soon.

March 25th- Kids Grow Green appearance on KSFY morning show. Must RSVP by Friday March 21st. We will be done before school starts and have time for a quick breakfast at Burger King for those interested in meeting us afterward for breakfast.

March 25th- Release date for Hoods April issue "All things Green" Kids Grow Green Cover Story.

March 28th -30th  Stop by Ground Works booth at the Lawn and Garden Show to get a copy of the April Hood Magazine Issue "All Things Green" featuring Kids Grow Green as the cover story!

April
April 8th -Milk Carton Collection Day. Using at recycling collection kit from the National Carton Council and Millennium Recycling we will be collecting and washing out milk cartons from the school lunch so we can use them to plant our plants in. Parent volunteers welcome!

April 15th- Tomato Transplanting event. Kids grow green will transplant their plants into recycled empty milk carton containers collected from their school lunch so they are ready for selling. Parent Volunteers welcome

April 19th  Party for the Planet, earth day event at Great Plains Zoo handing out April issue of Hood Magazine with Kids Grow Green cover story and teaching people how to fold newspaper planting pots. (Dress like a princess, prince or frog for princess and the frog theme. April is national frog month.)

April 23th Ground Works fundraiser at Landscape Garden Center/ Kids Grow Green presentation. 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

April 26th- After school Allie is selling Tomato Plants at Kingswood Rummage on Corner of Lancaster and Harvard.


May

May 3rd Kids Grow Green tomato sale at Sioux Empire Farmers Market, 8th and Railroad Center 8am to 1pm

May 12,th 13th , and 14th Kids Grow Green tomato plant sale. Garfield Elementary School 3:00pm to 4:30 pm near the gym and book fair.

June
 
June 10 and 11th- KGG kids will be presenting the Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum and Ground Works with the money raised from tomato plant sales at 11:30 one on the 10th and one on the 11th. We will be making video interviews of each group to post on the blog.
 
 
June 14th- Allie from Kids Grow Green will be out at Science Fest presenting her Green Dollhouse Design Science Project at the Hood Magazine booth to encourage other kids to participate in KGG challenges such as making something out of recycled materials. Science Fest is 8 to 5pm at the Sanford Research Center. Learn more about this awesome event at the It's All About Science Event Website.
